主讲人简介:

江会锋,博士,中国科学院天津工业生物技术研究所研究员。主要研究方向是合成生物学,开发新蛋白质功能元件的理性改造与设计方法,利用新酶设计技术创建从一碳到多碳化学品的生物合成途径,为变革生物制造原料路线奠定基础;利用组学技术发掘植物天然产物合成途径与关键基因,采用合成生物学技术构建与优化植物源天然产物的微生物异源合成工程菌株,为创新植物天然产物的生产模式奠定基础。已先后在Nature CommunicationsPNAS等国际学术期刊上发表SCI论文30余篇,申请专利15项,国际PCT专利1项。

报告摘要:
   Medicinal plants have been used in China for thousands of years. Many natural products from plants show great pharmacological activities and are major sources for the discovery of new drugs nowadays. However, the supplies of some plant metabolites can’t satisfy the requirements of markets. In our lab, we focus on solving the supply problem for high-value natural products through synthetic biology. Synthetic biology will use engineering principles to design and assemble the biosynthetic pathways in microorganisms to produce medicinal natural products, precursors, and even new compounds. Firstly the genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic datasets will be constructed to dig up the genes involved in natural product biosynthesis. After isolating all the genes, the biosynthetic pathways would be reconstructed in an engineered microbial strain. And then genetically modification would be done in the strain based on the analysis results. Currently, we are investigating the genes involved in the biosynthesis of flavonoids and terpenoids in several Chinese medicinal plant species and metabolically engineering the production of scutellarin, phloretin, diosgenin and so on in yeast cells. The engineered yeast strains can serve as the basis for creating an alternative way for producing natural products in place of extractions from plant sources.
