研究重点：
光合作用、叶绿素合成、合成生物学
上海交通大学生命科学技术学院长聘教轨副教授。研究光合色素的生物合成与光系统的组装和改造。主要研究方向包括：1）解析光合色素（叶绿素）合成路径相关酶的结构与催化机制；2）通过修饰改造和异源重构的方法研究光系统组装的分子机制；3）探究光合作用所需的最少遗传信息，逐步在异养生物（原核大肠杆菌和真核酵母）中建立光合作用。在Nature Plants、Science Advances、PNAS等期刊发表多篇研究文章。
